I agree that introducing it would increase sales but I don't think it's necessarily necessary.
A price cut is the thing that will really bring in the sales. Sony could drop the price, introduce the PS3 slim and put a decent advertising campaign behind it, they'd sell tons.

I don't think the PS3 will catch up with the Wii (unless they discontinue the Wii while the PS3 keeps going, ala PS2) but if they drop the price by 100 bucks and introduce the PS3 slim, I can envisage a massive influx of sales worldwide.
Most people already new about the keywords including Metal Gear, Konami have tricked us before I'm not quite sure it's confirmation.

Well it seems pretty early to be announcing it but it seems pretty concrete that it's coming.
Sev, will Sony announce some new retail games at E3...? (ICO 3, Twisted Metal HD, Syphon Filter 5 etc...)

Well first of all I'll state the obvious and say the games are from two completely different genres, and one of the games hasn't even been announced.
Secondly, although there's still a chance GOW3 will make '09 I think its doubtful but it will hit early 2010, probably March, whereas I think Gears 3 once/if its announced will release in the Fall of 2010, so basically no they won't be competing.
Big fan of the series on PS3 and this game seems to be shaping up pretty well, as long as it gets good reviews I'll pick it up.
Looking forward to some more footage of it at E3.
I have and I really didn't enjoy it, I don't think its the games fault I just don't like handheld games I think.

You've got it the wrong way round mate, we've seen gameplay for Uncharted 2 and we all know how amazing KZ2 looks yet we've never seen gameplay for AW and SC.
